Last year's finalists eliminated at Missouri Amateur

AUGUSTA - Friday was a bad day for last year's finalists at the Missouri Amateur Championship. Both defending champion Brad Nurski of St. Joseph and Eldon's Matt Miller, last year's runner-up, won their morning matches in this year's championship at Boone Valley Country Club in the Round of 32.

But the afternoon was a different story, as both fell in the Round of 16. Miller lost 5 and 4 to Springfield's Eric Ecker, while Nurski lost 1 up to Dixon's Jace Long.

Joining Ecker and Long in today's quarterfinal and semifinal rounds are St. Louis' Justin Bryant, Wildwood's Skip Berkmeyer, Springfield's Kevin Kring, Poplar Bluff's Carr Vernon, Wildwood's Patrick Riordan and Sedalia's B.J. Curry.
