COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Odyssey Sims scored 25 points and Brittney Griner had 17 points and 12 rebounds to help top-ranked Baylor beat No. 6 Texas A&M 63-60 on Sunday.
Sims hit a jumper in the lane with 26 seconds left to put Baylor (19-1, 5-1 Big 12) on top 62-60. A steal by Melissa Jones on Texas A&M's next possession forced the Aggies to foul her. She hit the first of two free throws to make it 63-60 with 10 seconds left.
The Aggies had a chance to tie it, but Sydney Colson's 3-point attempt was short. The Aggies got the ball back but Tyra White's desperation 3-point attempt at the buzzer was also short.
The victory is Baylor's 16th straight and leaves the Bears alone in first place in the Big 12 Conference.
White led Texas A&M (18-2, 6-1) with 18 points.
No. 5 Tennessee 72, Arkansas 53
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Shekinna Stricklen matched her career-high of 26 points to lift Tennessee to a win over Arkansas.
Stricklen, from Morrilton, Ark., matched her season high of 18 points in the first half to help the Lady Volunteers (21-2, 9-0 Southeastern Conference) win their 12th straight after an overtime loss at Baylor on Dec. 14.
Tennessee led 39-27 at halftime, sparked by an 8-0 run to close out the period. Stricklen capped the first-half scoring with her fourth 3-pointer, during which the Lady Volunteers were 7 of 14 from behind the arc. They finished 9 of 18 on 3-pointers, with Stricklen connecting on 6 of 9.
Arkansas (16-5, 4-5) opened the second half with a 10-2 run to close to within 41-37. Sarah Watkins had five of her 15 points during the run for the Razorbacks, who were outrebounded 42-23 by Tennessee.
No. 12 DePaul 78, No. 8 West Virginia 55
CHICAGO (AP) - Keisha Hampton scored 16 points to lead five DePaul players in double figures as the Blue Demons routed West Virginia.
Felicia Chester and Taylor Pikes each had 15 points for DePaul (21-2, 8-0 Big East) while Anna Martin had 12 and Sam Quigley 11. The Blue Demons have won 18 of their last 19 games and have a showdown with No. 2 Connecticut on Saturday.
Asya Bussie scored 13 points and Sarah Miles added 11 for West Virginia (19-3, 5-3), which lost consecutive games for the first time in nearly a year. The Mountaineers were beaten by Georgetown on Tuesday night.
The Blue Demons, off to their best-ever Big East start, trailed only in the game's opening minutes, then built leads of as many as 25 points in the second half.
No. 14 Maryland 84, Longwood 38
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Alyssa Thomas scored all 14 of her points in a decisive first half to lead Maryland to a victory over Longwood.
Alicia DeVaughn scored 16 points and Lynetta Kizer added 15 for the Terrapins (18-3), who led 50-14 at halftime for their fifth consecutive victory.
Longwood (4-15) lost for the sixth time in its past seven games. Maryland dominated the boards, 50-26, and have out-rebounded opponents in 19 of 21 games.
A jumper by Tianna Hawkins capped a 15-0 run for Maryland to start the game. The Lancers made just one of their first 17 field-goal attempts, missing all seven from beyond the arc.
Longwood committed 16 of its season-high 31 turnovers in the opening half, leading to 27 points for the Terrapins.
No. 15 North Carolina 76, Virginia Tech 51
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Italee Lucas scored 19 points to help No. 15 North Carolina beat Virginia Tech.
Laura Broomfield and Waltiea Rolle each had double-doubles for the Tar Heels (19-3, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who shot 47 percent and pulled away in the second half to sweep the two Virginia-based ACC schools this weekend.
The Tar Heels also improved to 8-0 all-time against Virginia Tech (9-12, 0-7) in Chapel Hill.
Alyssa Fenyn scored 11 points to lead the Hokies.
North Carolina once again was without Jessica Breland, who missed her third straight game following arthroscopic knee surgery little over a week ago. Despite her absence, the Tar Heels held a 49-32 rebounding advantage.
No. 16 Miami 84, No. 25 Georgia Tech 74, OT
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Riquna Williams scored 27 points to lead Miami to an overtime victory over Georgia Tech.
Stefanie Yderstom hit two 3-pointers and Shenise Johnson converted six free throws in the overtime session as the Hurricanes outscored the Yellow Jackets 14-4 in the extra five minutes.
Johnson finished with 21 points in helping Miami (20-2, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) to its 21st consecutive home win. The Hurricanes also snapped a six-game losing streak against the Yellow Jackets (18-6, 6-2).
Mo Bennett's jumper with six seconds left in regulation tied it 70-70. Johnson had a chance to win it but her jumper with one second remaining hit the side of the rim.
Alex Montgomery led Georgia Tech with 19 points before fouling out with 14 seconds remaining in the second half. The Yellow Jackets' Sasha Goodlet finished with 18 points before fouling out with 3:21 left in overtime.
No. 17 Kentucky 82, Alabama 69
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Victoria Dunlap had 25 points and 15 rebounds to lead Kentucky to a win over Alabama.
Keyla Snowed added 13 points and A'dia Mathies had 12 for the Wildcats (17-4, 6-2 Southeastern Conference).
Tierney Jenkins had 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead Alabama (11-11, 0-9).
With the game tied at 56 midway through the second half, Kentucky went on a 17-5 run to take control of the game. Alabama could only get within eight the rest of the game.
The Crimson Tide played their final game in Coleman Coliseum, where they had played since 1975. The Crimson Tide's next home game on Feb. 13 against Florida, will be played in Foster Auditorium.
No. 18 Iowa 80, Illinois 69
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Morgan Johnson had 17 points and 13 rebounds to help No. 18 Iowa beat Illinois.
Kachine Alexander scored 19 points and Jaime Printy added 17 for Iowa (17-5, 5-4 Big Ten).
Illinois (7-15, 2-7) closed to 68-65 in the final two minutes, but Kelly Krei hit a 3-pointer and Kamille Wahlin and Printy each added two free throws to seal the victory.
Karisma Penn had 22 points and 11 rebounds while Lydia McCully added 11 points and nine assists for the Illini.
Iowa had lost three of its first four Big Ten road games and won despite committing 22 turnovers. The Hawkeyes shot a season-best 52 percent from the field.
LSU 47, No. 20 Georgia 41
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Katherine Graham had 14 points and Adrienne Webb added 11 and the Lady Tigers held off the Lady Bulldogs.
Jasmine Hassell led Georgia with 16 points. The loss dropped Georgia (16-5, 6-2 SEC) into a second-place conference tie with No. 17 Kentucky.
LSU (15-8, 5-4) started out cold in the second half, missing 17 of its first 19 shots. The Lady Tigers' drought allowed Georgia to close to 31-30 on a basket by Jasmine James.
The Lady Bulldogs had several chances to tie or take the lead, but failed to convert.
No. 21 Florida State 76, N.C. State 69
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Cierra Bravard scored eight of her 14 points in the final four minutes to help Florida State beat North Carolina State.
Chasity Clayton scored 16 points for the Seminoles (18-4, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), who won for the ninth time in 10 games. Natasha Howard added 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Christian Hunnicutt had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Florida State.
The Seminoles, who scored the game's first 10 points, watched a 15-point lead disappear early in the second half before rallying for their fourth consecutive victory over N.C. State.
Bonae Holston scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Wolfpack (9-12, 1-6).
Penn State 80, No. 23 Ohio State 71
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Alex Bentley had 21 points and seven assists to help Penn State beat Ohio State.
Maggie Lucas added 18 points, hitting six 3-pointers, for the Nittany Lions (18-5, 7-2 Big Ten). Penn State, which leads the NCAA hitting 44 percent of its 3-pointers, made 7 of 12 against Ohio State.
The Nittany Lions capitalized on defense, scoring 20 points off of 13 turnovers. Penn State also had eight steals on the afternoon.
Ohio State (13-8, 4-5) lost its second-straight Big Ten contest. The Buckeyes have won six-straight Big Ten titles, but are currently tied for fifth in the conference.
Jantel Lavender led the Buckeyes with 26 points and six rebounds. Tayler Hill added 18 points for Ohio State.
