NJ governor jokes with Fallon on late-night TV

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has a new reason for not running for president: The job doesn't have as much power as the one he has now.

That's what the Republican governor quipped when he made his debut on a comedy TV show early Wednesday on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

A Twitter spat between the host and the politician led to the invitation.

Fallon repeated his joke - that people only get to the Garden State "by accident."

And Christie responded with his own, staring unblinkingly at the host for several seconds and saying, "You think it's funny, Jimmy? You know what we do to people like that in New Jersey, Jimmy?"

Christie again said he's not interested in running for president in 2012.
