Julie Elizabeth Bangert and David Scott Teefey, both of Lenexa, Kan., were married at 2 p.m., September 26, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mission, Kan. Rev. Dr. Mark R. Schulz performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Gary and Judy Bangert, Jefferson City. The groom is the son of John and Terri Teefey, Lawrence, Kan. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder ivory dress with delicate lace and beading, and a finger-length veil with beaded edge. She carried a round bouquet composed of burnt orange dahlias, burgundy carnations, orange roses, ivory hydrangeas, ivory spray roses and ivory hypericum. The honor attendant was Christine Henson, Lee's Summit, sister of the bride. The attendants were Kayla Maassen, Waynesville, friend of the bride; Kali Weidenbenner, St. Peters, friend of the bride; Linnea Heimsoth, Sedalia, friend of the bride; Rena Heimsoth, Lawrence, Kan., friend of the bride; Kate Melton, Lenexa, Kan., friend of the bride; and Emily Teefey, Lawrence, Kan., sister of the groom. They wore navy, floor-length gowns. The best man was Jon Collins, Lenexa, Kan., friend of the groom. The groomsmen included: Jacob Cox, Linwood, Kan., friend of the groom; Colton Johnson, Ozawkie, Kan., friend of the groom; Dustin Hoyt, Excelsior Springs, friend of the groom; Chris Teefey, Lecompton, Kan., brother of the groom; Brian Teefey, Dallas, Texas, brother of the groom; and Jason Bangert, Knoxville, Tenn., brother of the bride. The flower girl was Savannah Teefey, daughter of Brian and Lindsey Teefey, Dallas, Texas, niece of the groom. The ring bearer was Simon Teefey, son of Chris and Sarah Teefey, Lecompton, Kan., nephew of the groom. The ushers were Joel Bevitt, Lawrence, Kan., friend of the couple; Alex Webster, Overland Park, Kan., friend of the couple; and Nick Chance, Mission, Kan., friend of the couple. The organist was Dr. Lara West and the vocalist was Bri Nicoletti. The lector was Paula Lea, Lee's Summit, friend of the couple. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at Boulevard Brewing Company. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held September 25, 2020, at Deer Creek Golf Club. The bride is a 2009 graduate of Jefferson City High School, Jefferson City; a 2013 graduate of Truman State University, Kirksville, with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders; and a 2017 graduate of the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., with a Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D). She is a Clinical Audiologist at Ascentist Ear, Nose, and Throat. The groom is a 2008 graduate of Lawrence High School, Lawrence, Kan.; a 2012 graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kan., with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Enginerring; and a 2018 graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kan., with a Masters in Civil Engineering. He is a Civil Engineer at Kansas Gas Service. After a wedding trip to Anna Maria Island, the couple resides in Lenexa, Kan.
