Mr. and Mrs. Fred Southard, Jefferson City, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. Fred Southard and Dorthea Huffman were married October 17, 1959, at First Christian Church, St. James. They were attended by Charles Backues Jr. and Ethel Backues, both of Belle. Mr. and Mrs. Southard have four children: Denise Tyler and her husband Tony, Belle; Debbie Disser, Holts Summit; Carrie Montgomery and her fiancé, Mike Schweiss, Jefferson City; and Becky Wilbers and her husband Mike, Jefferson City. They also have 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
