Betty Ruth Wagner

Betty Ruth Wagner, 64, of Bland, Mo., passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, at University Hospital in Columbia. Betty was born in Dixon on October 12, 1949, to the late Norman French and Wilma (Lawson) French. On November 28, 1975, in Dixon, she was united in marriage to Steve Wagner. Betty and her husband Steve have pastored Open Door Fellowship Church in Bland for the last 27 years. She was preceded in death by three granddaughters and her sister, Connie Allen. Her survivors include her husband, Rev. Steve Wagner; children, Jamie Thompson and husband Curtis of Columbia, Kiley Medlock and husband Patrick of Owensville and Josh Wagner and fiancÈ Tonya Zelch of Rosebud; stepmother, Maxine French of Dixon; brothers, Darrell French and Judy of Dixon, Danny French of Dixon, Matt Peltz of Las Vegas, Nevada and Brice Veasman and Kay of Diamond City, Arkansas; sisters, Diane Evans and Jerry of Pochahontas, Arkansas, Norma Martin and Donnie of Springfield, Janet Parker and Virgel of Dixon, Judy Martin and Danny of Wentzville and Jodie Sims of Pacific; grandchildren, Jordyn, Preston and Tori Thompson, Mackenzie Wagner, Arissa Ison, Ciara Medlock, Madie Lansford, Celine Lansford, Maiyah, Alex and Haylee Wagner; great-grandchild, Aaliyah Thompson; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, at the Open Door Fellowship in Bland with Rev. Joe Skiles officiating. Burial was in the Radar Cemetery in Vienna. Arrangements entrusted to Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
