Evelyn Margaret Carlos

Evelyn Margaret Carlos, age 80, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Adams Street Place, Jefferson City. Evelyn was born March 30, 1933, in Cole County, the daughter of Adolph and Ella Jungmeyer Raithel. She married Billy Joe Carlos on November 24, 1966, in Russellville, and he survives. Evelyn retired from the Southern Boone School District as a bookkeeper for 17 years. She worked at the Missouri State Highway Department as a Supervisor of Keypunch Bookkeeping for many years. Evelyn was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg. She was also a member of the Hartsburg American Legion Auxiliary and the Extension Club. Evelyn loved her family and watching her grandkids grow. Survivors include her husband Bill of Hartsburg; one son, Rodney John Carlos and his wife Sandra of Hartsburg; one daughter, Karla Lynn Wiseman and her husband Matthew of Ashland; four grandchildren; and one sister, Berniece Jungmeyer and her husband Don of Russellville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 1 at 11 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice, in care of the family.
