Bill Adams, 87, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at North Village Park Care Center in Moberly, Missouri. He was born February 27, 1925, in Armstrong, Mo., a son of the late John Milton and Karleen (Lewis) Adams. He attended Salisbury High School in Salisbury, Mo. Bill was united in marriage on October 3, 1948, in Salisbury, Mo., to Jean Anne Jackson, who preceded him in death on September 26, 1991. Bill was a Grocery Clerk for many years, and retired as Head Clerk at Safeway Grocery Store in Jefferson City. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Bill was a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association, the Missouri Campers Association, the Mid-MO Campers, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the First Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing and traveling in R.V.'s. Bill is survived by two sons: John E. Adams (wife Carol Deakyne) of Columbia, Mo.; Paul W. Adams (wife Laura) of Marthasville, Mo.; two sisters: Mary Belle Case of Salisbury, Mo.; Betty Guilford Imgarten of Glasgow, Mo.; two step-grandchildren: Ryan Moeller (wife Caty) of Columbia, Mo.; Chelsea Moeller of Augusta, Maine; and one step-great-granddaughter: Rogan Alice Moeller of Columbia, Mo. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald E. Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
