Patricia Johnson

Mrs. Patricia Louise Johnson, age 82 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, May 28, 2012, at the Oak Tree Villa Nursing Center. She was born August 11, 1929, in Cedar City, Mo., the daughter of Ed and Edith Butler Donaldson. She was married on December 31, 1948, in Fulton, Mo., to Robert C. Johnson, who preceded her in death on April 7, 1977. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Pat was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. She received Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She later did a research project at the Metropolitan St. Louis Psychiatric Institute. Pat worked at the Missouri Secretary of State's Office for 10 years, and after she completed her education to become a social worker, Pat worked at Fulton State Hospital in Fulton, Mo. She later became the head of social work at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City and went on to work at Fort Leonard Wood to help as a social worker under Civil Services. Pat retired under her own practice counseling many patients from her home. Survivors include: her former spouse and long time companion, Bill Rant of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sons, Robert K. Johnson and his wife Janet of Jefferson City, Mo. and Jay Johnson and his wife Amelia of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Fawn Johnson of Sacramento, Calif. and Rebecca Rudder and her husband Ralph of California, Mo.; one niece, Dana Getsinger and her husband Pierce of Michigan; one nephew, Mike Brown and his wife Judy of Arizona; five granddaughters, Samantha, Alex, Carissa, Amanda, and Jessica; and one great-granddaughter, Audrey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Robert. A private family service will be conducted at a later date.
