Larry Donley

Larry Don Donley, 63, of Reno, Nevada, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012, in Reno, Nevada. He was born on October 21, 1948, at Latham Sanitarium in California, Mo., to LaVern McDaniel Donley and Robert Miller "Doc" Donley. Larry graduated eighth grade at Clarksburg CII Grade School, and was a member of the graduating class of 1966 at California High. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Sciences at Central Missouri State College and also his Juris Doctor at the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia. Larry worked at various occupations throughout his lifetime including teaching a short time at Versailles High School, driving a taxi, and working as a caseworker for the State of Missouri Family Services. He was currently employed with Tessco Technologies, Inc. Listening to live bands, antique/art shows, festivals and auctions were among the ways Larry enjoyed spending his leisure time. He particularly liked learning the history of places where he lived. Larry possessed a good sense of humor and liked to laugh and tell funny stories. He was honest, thoughtful of others and trustworthy. Larry is survived by: his stepfather, Dean Birdsong, Clarksburg, Mo.; sister, Lana Donley Heflebower (Bruce) Liberty, Mo.; brothers, Bob Donley of Kansas City, Mo.; Dennis Donley (Donna) of California, Mo. and half-sister, Deena Birdsong Dummermuth (Wayne) of California, Mo.; six nieces and nephews: Britney and Brielle Heflebower, Bryan and Nathaniel Donley and Tyson and Tessa Dummermuth. Preceding Larry in death are his parents, LaVern Donley Birdsong, on April 25, 2012, Robert Miller "Doc" Donley, on October 30, 1958, and nephew, Lance Tyler Dummermuth, on August 15, 1983. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Clarksburg, Mo., at 2:00 p.m. The family request no flowers or memorial donations.
