Ethel Frances Steimel, 76, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at SSM Health St Mary's Hospital. She was born on February 28, 1943, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Harold S. and Sylvia Eliza Dennis Anchell. She was married on January 12, 1963, in Cahokia, Illinois, to Donald Henry Steimel who preceded her in death on January 5, 2003. A 1961 graduate of Ritenour High School in St. Louis, Mrs. Steimel served through the years as a secretary with the Jefferson City Public Schools, as a school crossing guard, and as a volunteer at Jefferson City High School. She was a member of Capital West Christian Church and greatly enjoyed reading, Bingo, visiting Branson, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Her special love was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include four children, Phillip Steimel, St. Charles, Missouri; John Steimel, Columbia; Sharon (Christopher) Crocker, St. Martins; and Susan (Vernon) Dickson, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Jessica Crocker, Centertown; Cory (Blaine) Crocker, Jefferson City; and Ashley Steimel, Wentzville; three great-grandchildren, Rylee and Brenna Bock; and Weston Crocker; one sister, Clarice Moorfield, Manchester, Missouri; and three grand-dogs, Buddy, Holly, and Rex. She was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Anchell. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Harland officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Woodhaven, 1405 Hathman Place, Columbia, MO 65201.
