Beverly R. Scheulen

Mrs. Beverly R. Scheulen, age 87 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the Jefferson City Manor Nursing Center. Bev was born April 4, 1932, in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde L. and Daisy V. Bugbee Brewster. She was married on November 11, 1955, in Jefferson City, Mo. to James M. Scheulen who preceded her in death on April 30, 1976. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Bev was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson City High School. The Scheulen family founded Capital Auto Parts in 1960, and Bev served as the owner and manager from 1976, until her retirement in 2003. Bev enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe, Hawaii, and visiting her brother in Wyoming and Florida. Her hobbies included: crocheting, reading, bowling, watching soap operas, and bird watching. Bev was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and was a NASCAR enthusiast. Most importantly, she cherished her time with her family. They have many fond memories of spending summer weekends at their cabin at the Lake, which they had for over 40 years. They enjoyed swimming and boat rides on the pontoon; often times to The Dummy. Bev cherished time spent with her granddaughters. They enjoyed playing Yahtzee, making pancakes, watching movies and coloring. Survivors include: two sons, Daniel L. Scheulen of Jefferson City, Mo. and David B. Scheulen and Connie Joseph of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister, Lorna Wyss of California, Mo.; two grandchildren, Ashton S. Jones and her husband Jeremy and Lacey M. Scheulen; three great-grandchildren, Graham Scheulen, Annalynn Jones, and Oliver Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Mike Scheulen and Randy Scheulen, and one brother, Dudley Brewster. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2019, in the Freeman Chapel with Bryan Hufendiek officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Assn.
