William "Bill" Joseph Schrimpf, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born on April 29, 1940 in Jefferson City, Missouri to the late Harold and Stella Schrimpf. He attended Immaculate Conception grade school, St. Peters High School, and graduated from Helias High School in 1958. Bill was co-captain of the first undefeated football team at Helias and was a member of the National Honor Society. He attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri, and graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. In his early years Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting with his uncle "George", who was like a father to him. He married his high school sweetheart, Ethel Steuber, on June 10, 1961, who survives at their home. Together they had three children, Kimberly Bradley (husband Wade) of Jefferson City, Missouri, Kelly Hemmel, (husband Joseph) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and William "Kyle" Schrimpf (wife Amy) of Jefferson City, Missouri. Bill has four grandchildren, Melissa Bradley (fiancé Kyle Bisges), Jared Bradley (fiancée Lynn Matejka), Danielle Schrimpf and Brooke Schrimpf, and three great-grandchildren, Kale, Tyson and Coy William Bisges. He also has numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Bill has one surviving sister, Pat Zalken. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Stella Schrimpf, and sister Mary Kay McCann. Bill and family enjoyed many years at their lake home in the Ozarks fishing, boating, skiing and camping. Upon retirement, Bill and Ethel became full time RVers and traveled across the country. They also traveled to Mexico, Canada, Newfoundland, Africa and England. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards and winning at bingo. He will be dearly missed by all. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019, with a prayer service to follow at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to American Diabetes Association.
