Bernard August Schulte, 86, of Henley, Missouri passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at his residence in Henley, Missouri. He was born May 29, 1932 in Henley, Missouri, the son of the late Francis B. and Mamie (Kempker) Schulte. On September 13, 1952 in Mary's Home, Missouri he was united in marriage to Etta Louise (Bungart) Schulte who survives of the home. Bernard served in the United States Army. He was employed as a journeyman electrician for thirty plus years and a member of IBEW Local 257 and employed with Stokes Electric. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #3267 and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the Eagles Aerie #2693, the VFW and was a volunteer fireman for Cole County, MO. Bernard was an avid fisherman, hunter and farmer. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Survivors include: five children, Tom Schulte (Paula) of Jefferson City, Mo.; Jerry Schulte (Debbie) of Henley, Mo.; Herschel Schulte of Henley, Mo., Marietta Rutledge (Roy) of Honey Creek, Mo., and Sara Kempker (Matthew) of Mary's Home, Mo., 16 grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marice Schulte (Pat), Carolyn Rehagen (Jim), Kenneth Schulte; Mike Schulte (Cathy), Rose Oligschlager (Tom), Danny Schulte (Cynda), Sam Schulte (Donna), Lue Ann Hogg (Jerry), Elizabeth Heckemeyer (Ralph); and sisters-in-law, Wilma Schulte & Betty Schulte. He was preceded in death by: a grandson, Joseph Schulte; a great-granddaughter, Grace Farris; two brothers, Wilfred & Cletus Schulte; and one sister-in-law, Joan Schulte. Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2019 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Mary's Home, Mo. with a prayer service at 4:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10:00 AM also at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church with Rev. Alex Gabriel officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery with full Military Honors presented. Memorials in his name are suggested to Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
