Iola Marie Wilson, 81, of Calwood, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Jefferson City Manor. She was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on April 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Cecil Martin Fletcher and the late Golden Faye (Lairmore) Fletcher. On September 9, 1955, Iola was united in marriage to Frank Wilson who preceded her in death on June 9, 1989, Iola held various jobs during her career but her love was always healthcare and taking care of others. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. Iola was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing and quilting, and a gifted cook who made delicious pies. She had a love of the outdoors and the farm atmosphere. Iola found great joy in tending to her flower garden and watching the chickens, cows, and horses. She could often be found swimming and having wiener roasts at the creek. While she loved all these things, she found the most joy in her family. Those remaining to cherish her memory include sons, Dexter Wilson (Crissy) of Jefferson City, and Charles "Randy" Wilson (Roxanne) of Holts Summit; daughters, Charlotte Holtkamp (Joe) of Holts Summit, and Sharmon Kavan (Tim) of East Prairie; grandchildren, Dale Wilson (Carolyn), Tonya Vanderslice (Joel), Cherice Scott, Cody Holtkamp, Tyler Holtkamp, Connor Scott, and Chayse Kavan; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lani, Karley, Emma, and Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Iola was preceded in death by daughter, Sherry May Wilson; brothers, Harry, Charlie, Johnny, Billy Joe, and Earl Bruce Fletcher; and sisters, Elva McIntyre, Esther Longcrier, and Opal Spencer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Unity Baptist Church in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Interment will be in Unity Cemetery.
