Stanley Keith "Stan" Crocfer, 69, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Stan was born March 28, 1949 in Evanston, Illinois, a son of Morris Joseph and Maxine Beverly (Pulford) Crocfer. Stan attended Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California, receiving his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. On December 3, 1994 in Wellsville, Missouri, he married Cheryl Ann Maskey. Stan and Cheryl have lived in Jefferson City since 1997. From 1993-1997, they lived in Montgomery City. Stan served in law enforcement for over 33 years, starting his career in Fontana, California then working for Montgomery City Police Department, then Montgomery County Sheriff's Department and his last few years working with the State Technical Assistance Team as the Chief Investigator of S.T.A.T. before his health declined. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing and any outdoor activities. Stan is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann (Garufi) Crocfer and daughter, Amy Louise Crocfer, of the home in Jefferson City; daughter, Michelle Lynn (Brien) Fitzgerald of Carlsbad, California; step-sons, Brian Scott (Michelle) Maskey of Wellsville, John Vincent (Kelli) Maskey of Martinsburg, and Jason Alan (Krysta) Maskey of St. Peters; grandchildren, Madelyn and Emma Fitzgerald of Carlsbad, California, Jack and Willow Maskey of Wellsville, Hunter, Ayden, Kale and Brayden Maskey of St. Peters, and Emalynn Maskey of Martinsburg; mother-in-law, Joan Garufi of Wellsville; brother-in-law, Gary Garufi of Wellsville; sister-in-law, Leslie (Wendell) Collins of Fulton; nephews, Philip (Chandra) Collins of Fulton and Cory Collins of Fort Drum, New York; in addition to aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Crocfer; mother, Maxine Bell; brother, Michael Dean Crocfer; uncles, Cliff Comfort, Tom Pulford and Riley Pulford; aunt, Sylvia Weaver; cousin, Wendi Phillips; father-in-law, Vince Garufi; brother-in-law, Vince Garufi III and daughter-in-law, Alicia Maskey. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. John Foster will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian, John and Jason Maskey, Gary Garufi, Jim Gooch and Richard "Rich" Daniels. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service, 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Honors will be provided by the Missouri Police Funeral Assistance Team. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
