Norris Lee McKee, 76, of Jefferson City, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on March 8, 1942 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a daughter of Milton Lee and Sylvia Norris (Largen) Cashatt. She was united in marriage to Paul McKee on September 10, 1960, in Summersville, Missouri. Norris graduated from Bowling Green High School and spent her early years in the many places her father was assigned as a preacher. She had four beautiful children and took great care of them at home. Once the children were in school, Norris decided to start her career as a cook. She worked for nursing homes and daycares but it was more pure delight than work as the children would want to take her home. Norris was a member at First Assembly of God and currently at Solid Rock Family Church. She spent more than 50 years as a Sunday School teacher for four and five year old children. She enjoyed bird watching and sewing but mostly cherished the times spent with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchild. Norris is survived by her mother: Sylvia of Fresno, California; four children: Rachel of Jefferson City, Glenda of Jefferson City, Edith of Stanton and Philip of Jefferson City; two sisters: Sharon and Joanna, both of Fresno, California; four grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Ariel and Christian (Brittney); one great-grandson: Braxton; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Paul, and father: Milton. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Solid Rock Family Church with the Rev. Joe Skiles officiating. Interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Midvale Cemetery in Summersville, Missouri. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Solid Rock Nursery Ministries. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109, (573) 636-3838.
