Mrs. Linda M. Propst, 56, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. Linda was born October 26, 1962, in Jefferson City, a daughter of William "Bill" and Irene (Williams) Eickhoff. She was married on February 17, 1984, at Immanuel Lutheran Church to Donald H. Propst. She was a 1980 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia. She graduated from Central Missouri State at Warrensburg in 1984, and from Lincoln University in 2001, with a degree in Elementary Education. Linda was a teacher at Cole County R-5 School in Eugene for the past 18 years. She was loved by all her "kids" (students) and was known for her amazing smile and generous heart. Linda was honored to be chosen by numerous senior athletes as the staff member who made the biggest difference in their time at Eugene school. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Honey Creek. She was an active member in the community and was always first to help those in need. Linda was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed attending auctions and going antiquing with family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, including lake and beach vacations and sister trips. Survivors include: her husband of 35 years, Don; two sons, Nathan A. Propst and Jason M. Propst, both of Honey Creek; her father, Bill Eickhoff of Loose Creek; one brother, Dale Eickhoff (Shae Marie) of Jefferson City, Mo.; four sisters, Ruth Markway (Stanley) of Westphalia, Susan Cassmeyer (Scott) of Taos, Carol Hudspeth (Kevin) of Loose Creek, and Brenda "B.J." Schwartze (Chad) of Koeltztown; her mother and father-in-law, Leroy and Margie Propst of Honey Creek; brother-in-law, Tom Propst (Sharla) of Stover; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Becker (Darrin) of Independence, and Vicki Schuster (Matt) of Independence; and 20 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Colin R. Propst on September 20, 2014; her mother, Irene and infant brother, Dennis. A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held at Calvary Lutheran High School, 2525 Route B, Jefferson City, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Reverend Richard Foss officiating. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to Caring for Others Scholarship Fund, 2321 Route E., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
