Norma Jean Dutcher, 88, of California, Mo., passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at California Care Center. She was born May 6, 1929, in Moniteau County to Cecil Roy Hays and Gladys Mabel Hall Hays both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on September 23, 1946, in Jefferson City to Lester Lee Dutcher who preceded her in death. She worked for several years at Wilcox Electric in Kansas City before going to work for Montgomery Ward's prior to retiring in 1989. Upon retirement, they moved back to California. Norma was an avid gardener and enjoyed varieties of flowers around their home. She was also an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Martin. Survivors include one son, Larry Dutcher and his wife Barb of Ocala, Fla.; one son-in-law, Ed Martin of Texas, one daughter, Lynnette Bowles and her husband Rusty of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandsons, Jimmy Dutcher and his wife Jennifer and Joey Dutcher, all of Davenport Fla.; four granddaughters, Becky Schneider and her husband John of California, Mo., Tammy Martin and her husband Bobby of Bunceton, Mo., Nikki Smith and her husband Zach of Rayville, Mo., Jamie Bowles and Wesley Cogdill of Gladstone, Mo.; three great-granddaughters and seven great-grandsons; one brother, Russell Hays; two sisters, Laverne Lockhard and Carol Sue Venneman and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and daughter, Norma was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Hays and Leroy Hays; two sisters, Ruby Mather and Frances Howard. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be held on January 23, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service with Jack Bowlin officiating. Interment following at High Point Cemetery.
