Mary Jean Lindhorst

Mary Jean Lindhorst, 83, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Maple Wood Nursing Home Alzheimer Care Center in Springfield. She was born on October 29, 1934, in Chamois, Missouri, the daughter of the late Henry and Cora (McKnight) Walker. Mary was united in marriage to James Loyd Lindhorst and they made their home in Kansas City There she attended Faubion United Methodist Church where she was involved in various committees and was a member of the Esther Circle. She enjoyed traveling with her family, the outdoors, gardening, reading and cooking. She is survived by her daughter: Nancy Billington (Tom) of Springfield; sons: Eric Lindhorst of Edgerton, Scott Lindhorst (Debbie) of Kansas City; sister: Geneva White of Westphalia; grandchildren: Ryan Billlington (Irene) Lindsey Vaughan (Jonathan), Erin and Amy Lindhorst, Mike Rudd (Mika) and Molly Rudd, and six great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister: Dorothy Ames. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Millard Family Chapel in Chamois. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Millard Family Chapel in Chamois. Interment will follow in the Chamois City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
