Clara Mae Schwermer, 78, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at JourneyCare Hospice Center in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Born on October 8, 1938, to the late M.W. Jack and Minnie (Goldammer) Zumwalt, Clara was united in marriage on February 4, 1961, in Jefferson City, Missouri to Robert "Bob" Alfred Schwermer, who survives of the home. Clara was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. As a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker for all her life, she also worked at the State of Missouri Workers Compensation, Raytown in Kansas City and Siemens as a Receptionist. Clara was a prolific reader of fiction and mysteries. She is survived by two sons: Daryl Lynn (Kim) Schwermer of North Barrington, Illinois and Gregory Scott Schwermer of North Barrington, Illinois; three daughters: Enola Gay Schwermer of Owasso, Oklahoma, Stephanie Ann (Terry) Sparck of Phoenix, Arizona and Karen Alisia Schwermer of Glendale, Arizona; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: Roger Dale Schwermer; one brother: William "Bill" Zumwalt; and one sister: Betty Jean Linhardt. In Illinois: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mount Prospect, Illinois with services to follow at 5:00 p.m., Rev. Bo Graham, officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. In Missouri: Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Houser-Millard Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, Missouri with Rev. Samuel Powell officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City, Missouri. Expression of sympathy may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, Missouri or Calvary Lutheran High School in Jefferson City, Missouri.
