Frances Fay Bergman, 80, of Jefferson City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Fran passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She was born February 20, 1936, in Washington County, Mo., a daughter of the late Lester P. and Leora (Boyer) Pinson. She attended DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Mo. On February 22, 1953, Fran was united in marriage in DeSoto, Mo., to Roy Robert Bergman, who preceded her in death on September 27, 2010. Fran was employed as a Driver Examiner for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. In her retirement, Fran owned and operated Square One Driving School. She was especially proud of the number of people she taught how to drive who would have never learned to drive without her help. Fran was up to the challenge with students who may have had difficulty speaking English, older people who had never driven a day in their life, and those who had previously tried and failed to obtain a drivers license. Fran was a self taught artist. Her paintings were featured in various venues, both local and state wide, including Westminster and Rozier Galleries and the Miller Performing Arts Center. Fran enjoyed meeting friends at casinos and playing the lottery. Her family has always been Fran's most treasured pride and joy. Stories of Mom, Mee-Maw and Aunt Fran will forever be repeated with love and laughter. Fran is survived by four daughters, Sue Logston (Mike) of Jefferson City, Laura Pintcke (Ted) of Overland Park, Kan., Tracy Bergman-Choisser of Jefferson City, Kelley Kuensting (Gary) of Jefferson City; two brothers, John A. Christ (Elena) of Tallahassee, Fla. and Roy Lee Christ; nine grandchildren, Caleb (Edie) Logston, Seth Logston, Kelsey Logston, Rachel (Pintcke) Israel (Matt), Audrey Pintcke- Hinkle (Grant), Suzie Kuensting, Sarah (Miller) Tannehill, Amy Miller and Kayla (Choisser) Jones; and 10 great-grandchildren, Cadie, Alayna, William and Mathew Logston, Arianna Miller, Xavier, Jayda and Elijah Jones, Ellie and Kate Israel. Along with her parents and husband, Fran was also preceded in death by siblings, Gloria Laiben, Lester Pinson, Tyrone Pinson and Connie Peters; and a son-in-law, Allen Choisser. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Pastor Caleb Logston officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Show-Me Christian Youth Home in LaMonte, Mo. or Helias Catholic High School. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109. (573) 636-3838.
