Mildred Marie Dothage

Mildred Marie Dothage, 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Gamma Road Lodge, Wellsville, Missouri, surrounded by her family. Mildred was born March 14, 1923 at Starkenburg, Missouri to Otto George and Rosa Anna (Struttmann) Gloe. She grew up on Rush Island, Smith Creek and later moved to Jonesburg with her parents. Mildred worked various jobs from waitress to factory worker. During World War II she worked at the Curtis Wright airplane factory helping make parts for B24's. After the war she married Julius Henry Dothage on February 15, 1947. They made their home in Jonesburg and raised their family there. Later in life she took loving care of several ailing family members. Mildred loved her family and spending time with them. She also loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with her husband and kids. Recent years she was a resident of Gamma Road Lodge, Wellsville, Missouri. The family would like to thank their staff for the loving care shown to their mother. Mildred is survived by her three children: Dennis (Rose) Dothage, Mountain Home, Arkansas; Carol (Ray) Callahan, Montgomery City, Missouri; and Linda (Jeffrey) Kempker, Jefferson City, Missouri; grandchildren: Alicia Dieckman, Derrick Dothage, Keith Smith, Christal (Jason) Jones, Jared Kempker, and Jamie Kempker; step-grandchildren: William Hall, Nicole (Logan) Mathias, Shane Callahan, Shanna Callahan; great-grandchildren: Ebony, Jewel, Austin Dieckman, Alexis Eberhardt, Grayson Dothage, Chase, Shalynn Jones; step-great-grandchildren: Leilani, Landon, Ciari Hall, Emmitt Kershaw. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Roger Schwartz; sister-in-law, Opal Dothage; and many nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julius Dothage on December 19, 1997; one granddaughter, Heather Renee Smith on July 15, 1976; her siblings, Justin (Jess) Gloe, Louis (Boots) Gloe, Mary Daniels, and Dolores (Jeanie) Schwartz. Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary being said at 7 p.m. at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Jonesburg, Missouri. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery, next to her beloved Julius. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggest to St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery Fund, Disabled American Veterans, or the National MS Gateway Chapter (St. Louis).
