Charyl E. Saunier

Charyl E. Saunier, age 77 of Linn, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at her daughter's residence in Nevada, Mo. Charyl was born February 9, 1940, in Letcher, S.D., a daughter to the late Charles and Bernadine (Dunbar) Thomas. Charyl was a 1958 graduate of Mitchell High School in Mitchell, S.D., and later received her nursing education in Amarillo, Texas. On January 23, 1973, Charyl was united in marriage to Louis "Louie" Saunier at St Johns United Methodist Church in Linn. He survives of the home in Linn. Charyl worked as an LPN at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City and at Green Meadows Nursing Home in Linn. She later worked as a teacher's aid at the Linn Middle School. Charyl enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, reading murder mysteries, sewing, knitting and traveling. She also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. In addition to her husband of 44 years, Charyl is survived by: five daughters, Teresa Loranger and her husband Joe of Laurel, Md., Denise Jaegers and her husband Karl of La Monte, Mo., Diane Clayton and her husband Terry of Jefferson City, Suzanne Fritts and her husband Larry of Nevada and Paula Caywood and her husband David of Linn; one brother, Richard "Dick" Thomas and his wife Jeanne of Rapid City, S.D.; one sister, Lorraine Larson of Woonsocket, S.D.; 11 grandchildren, Leslie Sebastian, Allison Shinkle, Maggie Chadd, Andrew Fritts, Connor Jaegers, Joey Fritts, Christopher Jaegers, Grant Clayton, Amanda Loranger, Luke Fritts, Brianna Loranger and Natalie Caywood; 11 great- grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Charyl was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Gene Thomas. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Morton Chapel in Linn. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Diabetes Association or to SSM Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Chapel, Linn, Missouri.
