Marvin Francis Coil, 90, of Columbia, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017, at Boone Hospital Center. He was born October 4, 1925, in Audrain County, Missouri, the son of Carson W. Coil and Lottie (Carlyle) Coil. On April 22, 1950, he was united in marriage to Mary Kathleen Gulick who survives. Marvin was a World War Two veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at A. P. Green Refractories for 45 years. Marvin was a quiet, purposeful man of mild demeanor. He was loving, compassionate and of high moral character. He was a noble and perfect father. Marvin is survived by his wife: Mary Kathleen Coil; one son: Eric Coil; one sister: Wanda Coil Salmons; one brother: David Coil; one sister-in-law: Martha Coil; grandchildren: Zachary C. Coil (Lyndsey); Landon T. Coil (Brianne); Logan C. Coil; and Ian S. Coil. Marvin was preceded in death by two children: Kathy Denise Coil Phears; Valerie Coil; three brothers: George Coil; Lewis Coil and Carson Coil. A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Perche Baptist Church, Clark, Missouri.
