Larry James Shoemaker

Larry James Shoemaker, 58, of New Bloomfield, Missouri passed away at his home on August 13, 2017. Larry was born on November 11, 1958, in Columbia, Missouri, to Everett and Pauline Ogle Shoemaker who preceded him in death. He was married on December 26, 1978, in the Phillipines to Gina Rosales and she survives. He was a 1977 graduate of New Bloomfield High School. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps and served from 1977-80. He then worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years until his retirement. Larry was a member of Providence Baptist Church in New Bloomfield and he enjoyed gardening, cooking new recipes, mushroom hunting, fishing and traveling but his greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren and family. Survivors also include his son, Everett James "E.J." Shoemaker and wife, Elsa of Holts Summit; brother, Wayne (Sharon) Shoemaker of New Bloomfield; sisters, Marla (Greg) Schaefer and Linda (Larry) Lawson, all of New Bloomfield and grandchildren, Itzia, James Jesus "J.J." and Isaiah Shoemaker, all of Holts Summit. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Ecton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Debo Funeral Home, 10920 Old Highway 54 North in Holts Summit, Missouri. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Jacksonville Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the funeral home.
