Cecelia Marie Garr, age 67, of San Diego, Calif., passed away on July 16, 2017, peacefully in her home. Cec was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on July 21, 1949, to Catherine Ann (Bonderer) Garr and Reginald Junior Garr. Cec's love of music helped launch her career in the music industry with Capitol Records while in Kansas City. She then relocated to Houston, Los Angeles and Chicago. Her journey continued to Dallas, and TM Productions. Leaving her position as Regional Manager for TM, Cecelia stayed in Dallas to join FirstCom Music in 1985. She retired in 2003 as President & CEO, merging FirstCom with international Zomba Music, and expanding the company into a $19M digital music powerhouse. She shared her life there with family and friends, walking the beaches, sailing with her good friends, and experiencing Pacific Ocean sunsets. She traveled extensively with family and friends, and often with her best friend and sister, Janet. She remembered and celebrated family and friends birthdays and special occasions, and accompanied her nieces and nephews on very special trips for 16th birthdays. Cec was extremely active within her community. She served on the board of the Dallas and the San Diego chapters of the National MS Society. Cecelia served on her neighborhood library board of directors and volunteered at the Hubbell House in Julian, CA, and at the Museum of Photographic Art (MOPA) in San Diego, Calif. She is survived by her sister, Janet (Garr) Polsinelli and husband Quinn Polsinelli of Colorado; brothers, Rick Garr and wife Debbie (Whited) Garr, and Robb Garr and wife Debbie (Spickler) Garr of Kansas; and sister, Mary Ann (Garr) Young and husband John Young of Missouri.
