Remus H. Bax, 85, of Tipton, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Tipton Oak Manor. He was one of four children born in Freeburg, Mo., to Dr. August H. and Christine Bax. He moved to the Fortuna/Tipton area in 1958 to be near family and make his home. He enjoyed woodworking and leather craft as he was good working with his hands. He also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, laughing, visiting and observing people. His faith and especially the rosary were an important part of his life. Remus is survived by: brother-in-law, Dr. C.F. Luebbert of Tipton; nephews, Dale Gradel of Rock Island, Ill. and Drs. Russell (Marilyn) Luebbert of Ariz./Minn.; nieces, Katherine Bax of Imperial, Calif. and Lynn (Steven) Brauer of Tipton; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin A. Bax; and sisters, Doris Bax and Viola Luebbert. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at St. Andrew Church in Tipton with burial to follow at 2 p.m. in the Holy Family Cemetery in Freeburg. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Memorials are suggested to the religious charity of the donors choice.
