R. Lee Stafford, age 92, of Woodway, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, surrounded by his family, in Waco, Texas. Lee was born January 9, 1924, in Tebbetts, Mo., to William and Amanda Suggett Stafford. He served his country in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. After his service, he was employed as a plumber, became an insurance salesman and founder/owner of PALS Realty. In retirement, his favorite saying was "just trying to make a living without working". Lee is survived by his wife of 18 years, Louise of Woodway, Texas; two daughters, Lois and husband Tom Kliethermes, and Sandy and husband George Reynolds, all of Holts Summit, Mo.; two sons, Rod and wife Alicia Stafford of Springfield, Mo. and Randy and wife Bev Stafford of Holts Summit, Mo.; step-daughter, Tammy and husband Damon Smith of Arlington, Texas; step-son Dickie and wife Laura Thaxton of Sealy, Texas; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Laverne Stafford of Holts Summit, Mo. Lee was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Wanda Hartman Stafford; one brother; one grandson; and one step-daughter-in-law. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Solid Rock Family Church, 508 Hunters Run, Jefferson City, Mo.
