Noel William (Bill) Lott

Noel William (Bill) Lott, age 87, of Ashland, passed away, Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia. Bill was born July 18, 1929, in Mississippi, the son of James and Nora Lott. He married Barbara Vitzthum in 1955, and she preceded him in death. He later married Carolyn (White) Gilpin on August 7, 1976, and she survives. Bill retired from the US Army after 20 years of service. He served with distinction in the United States, Germany, Hawaii and two tours in Korea. He also retired from the HST Veterans Hospital after 15 years. Survivors also include four sons; three daughters; one sister; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Robinson Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery. He was preceded in death by one son. Memorial contributions are suggested to New Salem Cemetery in care of the family.
