Glenda C. Mayberry, 68, of Holts Summit, passed peacefully from this life at The University Hospital on Saturday, August 20, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle with disease and is ultimately what gave her peace. Glenda was born to the union of Doyle and Earlene Brown on May 14, 1948, in Jonesboro, Ark. She was united in marriage on June 28, 1968, in Bono, Ark., to Denny Mayberry, who survives at their home. She leaves behind her two children, Derick Mayberry of Bella Vista, Ark. and DeShaun Wings of Holts Summit; seven grandchildren, Trenae, Christian, Sara Grace, Savannah, Dylan, Dawson and Zane, who were truly the light of her life; her mother, Earlene Brown of Brookland, Ark.; her brother, Phillip (Catherine, a true sister in her heart) Brown of Jonesboro, Ark.; sister, Marieta (Marty) Tate of Brookland, Ark.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, whom she loved dearly. Above all else Glenda loved her family and they will truly miss her presence. A Celebration of Glenda's Life will be held at Fairground's Church of Christ on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. An additional Celebration of Life will be held at The Bono Church of Christ in Bono, Ark., on Friday, August 26, 2016, at 1 p.m. Glenda donated her body to science and Houser-Millard handled those preparations. The family requests that any monetary donations be sent to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Glenda was very passionate about research related to multiple sclerosis in the hopes that others would be spared from the debilitating effects of the disease.
