Janet Kay Gilles

Janet Kay (Phillips) Gilles, age 67, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at her Mannford residence. Janet was born September 1, 1946, in Gainesville, Missouri, to William "Boone" Phillips and Faye (Holmes) Phillips. She married Jerry A. Gilles on November 24, 1965, and have been married for 47 years. Janet worked as a hand decorator for Frankoma Pottery. One of Janet's hobbies was fishing. She preferred to fish with a cane pole so could "whack" a snake with it if it swam her way. She is survived by her husband, Jerry A. Gilles of Mannford, Oklahoma; her daughter, Jeanne Makinson of Morris, Oklahoma; her son, Joe Gilles of Springfield, Missouri; her brothers, Wayne Phillips of East Peoria, Illinois, and Kevin Phillips of Centertown, Missouri; her grandchildren, Justin Harper of Champaign, Illinois, Jessica Swimmer-Gilles of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Josh Gilles of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dylan Gilles of Terlton, Oklahoma, Jedediah Harper of Stillwater, Oklahoma; along with other family relatives and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her father, William "Boone" Phillips; her mother, Faye (Holmes) Phillips; and her brother, Delbert Phillips. Memorial services are still pending.
