George T. Kaup

Mr. George T. Kaup, age 78 years, of Holts Summit, Mo., died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at South Hampton Place in Columbia, Mo. George was born on September 8, 1934, in Denver, Colo., the son of Ellis J. and Grace V. Forte Kaup. He was married on June 26, 1955, in Berkley, Calif., to Jacqueline M. Butler. George served in the United States Navy as a mechanist on the USS Thomas Jefferson. He was past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans in Lebanon, Mo. For 40 years, George lived on a farm outside of Lebanon, Mo. where he owned and operated his own automobile repair business and woodworking shop. George also resided at Lake Pomme De Terre for several years after retirement and had been a resident of the central Missouri area for the past six years. Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Jacqueline Kaup; one daughter, Betty M. Kaup-Stuart and her husband James of Westphalia, Mo.; one sister, Eleanor Williams and her husband Merle of Brownsville, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Kelsey Stuart Ramirez and her husband Cody, and Jacob Stuart. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Thomas Kaup in 2010. A private family service will be held at a later time.
