Chad James Steinman

Chad James "Little Stubby" Steinman, 33, of Argyle, departed this life on Sunday, May 12, 2013. Chad was born September 3, 1979, at Jefferson City, the son of David Lee and Joyce Marie (Brendel) Steinman. Chad was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, and the United Union of Roofers Local No. 20, AFL-CIO, Kansas City, Kansas. He had been employed as a roofer for Weathercraft, Inc., Jefferson City, for the past 10 years. Activities Chad especially enjoyed were hunting, fishing, trapping and being with family and friends. On June 4, 1998, at St. Louis, Chad entered into active federal service in the United States Army and served until June 3, 2001, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Hood, Texas, at the rank of Specialist 4th Class. As a part of his military education and training, he had successfully completed an 11 week course in power generation equipment repair. Chad was awarded and entitled to wear the Army Lapel Button, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar, and the Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Grenade Bar. A man of excellent character, his "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hubert and Emma Steinman; his maternal grandparents, Ray and Lidwina Brendel; and his God Mother, Judy Massman. Those left to mourn the passing of Chad include: His parents, David "Stubby" and Joyce Steinman, Koeltztown; one sister, Amy Wulff and husband, Jason, Wardsville; nephew, Conner Stegeman; niece, Alyssa Stegeman, both of Wardsville; and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 3 - 7 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. A Vigil and Final Farewell Service for Chad will be conducted at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating and will be followed by Military Honors. Family and friends are invited and encouraged to stay, not only for the service and honors, but also a celebration of Chad's life in the Argyle Pavilion. Memorials are suggested to The Scholarship/Educational Fund for his nephew and niece, Conner Stegeman and Alyssa Stegeman, with envelopes available at the church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home.
