Lavorris Dale Crutchfield

Lavorris Dale Crutchfield, 69, of Holts Summit, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on November 23, 1943, a son of the late Lester Ray and Elva Boyd Crutchfield. He was married in 1965 to Billie Schneider, who survives at the home. Dale attended Star City High School. He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. He retired from AmerenUE after over 33 years of service as a lineman, electrician, and later as supervisor of the gas department. Dale was a member of the Union Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed curing hams and quilting, but most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife Billie, he is also survived by one daughter: Suzy Wilde (Damon) of Westphalia; one son: Matt Crutchfield (Julia) of St. Peters; one brother: Leon Crutchfield (Carolyn) of Brinkley, Arkansas; two sisters: Linda Green (Randall) of Eldorado, Arkansas and Carolyn Hughes of Start City, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Abbey Jobe, Henry Wilde, Christopher Wilde, Emma Crutchfield, and Elijah Crutchfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Charlene Jordan and Varniece Jackson. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Union Hill Baptist Church with funeral services immediately following at 3:00 p.m with Brother Frank Whitney officiating. Interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Union Hill Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
