Edward (Ed) Raymond DeCook, 82, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Adams Street Place Nursing Home, in Jefferson City. He was born March 15, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Smet) DeCook. Ed served in the United States Army. Ed enjoyed drinking coffee with friends, spending time with his grandchildren, and his beloved Chihuahua, Pickles. Survivors include three daughters: Denice DeCook of Wichita, Kansas; Dori DeCook of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Danielle DeCook (Kelvin) of Holts Summit, Missouri; one son: Jay DeCook (Christina) of St. Charles, Missouri; four grandchildren: Gabriel Lowery, Julius Lowery, Brooklyn DeCook, and Jackson DeCook. He was preceded in death by one son: Edward "Rick" DeCook; and four brothers: Alphonse DeCook, Cesar DeCook, Robert DeCook, and Richard DeCook. Private family services are being held at a later date.
