Juanita Hickman, 91, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at her residence in Jefferson City, Mo. On January 27, 1922, she was born the daughter of the late George Ivy and Lucy Ellen (Robbins) Cotten. On January 20, 1940 in Eldon, Missouri she was united in marriage to Philip Hickman who preceded her in death on January 2, 2006. Juanita was a very active member of the Aurora Springs Baptist Church of Eldon, Mo. She was also a member of the Eldon Garden Club and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She had a special love for children. Survivors include daughter, Debbie Coon of Jefferson City, Mo.; granddaughters and husbands, Jennifer and David Terry of Jefferson City, Mo.; Angela and Scott Howard of Jefferson City, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Alexis Coon of Jefferson City, Mo., Tristen Howard of Jefferson City, Mo., Blake Terry of Jefferson City, Mo., and Aiden Howard of Jefferson City, Mo.; sisters, Jean Freeman of Eldon, Mo., Hazel McCoy of Camdenton, Mo., Cathy Chamberlin of Springfield, Mo., and Freda Williams of Overland Park, Kan.; and her brother, George Cotton of Ind. Her sister, Gerry Gordy preceded her in death. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 28, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Aurora Springs Baptist Church of Eldon, Mo., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Bill Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Tol Wood Cemetery near Eldon, Mo. Memorials are suggested to Aurora Springs Baptist Church.
