Richard E. Linsenbardt

Mr. Richard E. Linsenbardt, age 68 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his home. Richard was born on April 19, 1944, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Ernest and Mary Wagner Linsenbardt. He was married on August 6, 1966, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Sharon Raithel, who preceded him in death on February 20, 1978. On April 4, 1992 in Browning, Mo., he married Mary Beth McArtor. A lifelong resident of Jefferson City, Richard graduated from Jefferson City High School. He went on to serve in the United States Reserves for several years. As a teenager, Richard starting working with his father at their family business, Linsenbardt Electric. He eventually bought the business and owned it for several years. In 2003, he sold the business to Mo. Electric Motor and Controls which later became JCI Industries, staying on as manager. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the B.P.O. of Elks, Lodge 513. During his younger years, he trained and showed Brittany Spaniels winning several awards at various shows. He enjoyed doing yard work, preparing for his annual rib cook-off, and spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren. Richard was an avid sports fan, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tigers football team, and spent many summers coaching Babe Ruth Baseball. For over 30 years, he helped the Jay Football Program by being the "eye in the sky" and recording all the football games for coaches and players to review. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Beth Linsenbardt; one son, Rob Linsenbardt and his wife Christie of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Donna Linsenbardt of Jefferson City, Mo. and Linda Hasler of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Lydia and Lawton Linsenbardt; one niece, Stacy Doggett and her husband Mike of Jefferson City, Mo.; and one sister-in-law, Julie McArtor of Browning, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sharon Linsenbardt; and brother-in-law, Bill Hasler. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2013, with an additional visitation held Monday at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Samuel Powell officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Jay Football Foundation.
