Mildred Gayle Sherrell

Mildred "Millie" Gayle Sherrell, age 74, of Jefferson City, formerly of Meta, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at St. Joseph's Bluffs in Jefferson City. Let Heaven and Earth sing. She was born on October 14, 1938, daughter of the late Thurman Happy and Ruby (Sheley) Vaughan. On December 8, 1973, in Jefferson City, Millie married Clarence Samuel "Sam" Sherrell, who preceded her in death on July 22, 2008. She is survived by one son, Michael Gibler and wife Donna of Jefferson City; one daughter, Lori Davis and husband Danny Guy of New Bloomfield; two stepsons, Steven Sherrell of Meta and Alan Sherrell and wife Doreen of New Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Vaughan and wife Catherine of Lohman and Chuck Vaughan and wife Mary Ann of Jefferson City; and two sisters, Fran Smith and husband George and Sarah Sherrell and husband Ron, both of Jefferson City. She was also preceded in death by one son, Bobby Gibler and one stepson, Mark Sherrell. A memorial service will be held a 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at St. Joseph's Bluff Nursing Home in Jefferson City. Chaplain Jim Mueller will officiate. A private graveside service will be held at later date in Southside Cemetery in Meta. Memorial contributions are suggested Hospice Advantage or to Southside Cemetery.
