Sarah Marie Custard

Sarah Marie (Neal) Custard, 93, of New Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at her home. She was born February 10, 1919, in Callaway County, the daughter of the late George Luther Neal and the late Lydia Louise (Wenger) Neal. She married Edwin W. Custard on November 5, 1939 in Fulton, Mo. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1972. Sarah was a homemaker. She loved her children, grandchildren, her garden and flowers. Sarah will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by six sons, Jack Custard (Judy), Donnie Custard (Marita), Bob Custard (Brenda), Richard Custard (Karen), and Doug Custard (Chandra), all of New Bloomfield, and James "Deke" Custard (Doris) of Fulton; three daughters, Sharon Vaught (Al) of Fulton, Susan Koprivica (Steve) of Auxvasse, and Linda Guerrant (Wayne) of New Bloomfield; 22 grandchildren, Scott Custard, Travis Custard, Jennifer (Jeff) Cowart, Kristin Guerrant, Erin (Lance) Bidlack, Sara Custard, Ethan Custard, Evan Custard, Kyle Voss and Cade Custard, all of New Bloomfield, Rusty (Cheryl) Custard of Columbia, Ron (Jill) Custard, Steve Custard, Mark (April) Custard, Kerry Custard, Melinda (Dean) Schoening, Garry (Rebekah) Vaught, all of Fulton, Kelly (Rick) Hague and Craig Koprivica of Auxvasse, Jay (Beth) Custard, Erie, Colo., Jeff (Becky) Custard of Fenton, and Mandy Custard of Chicago, Ill.; 20 great-grandchildren, Trenton, Shane, Skyeler and Mailei Custard of Columbia, Ryan and Zach Custard, Megan Custard, Kara and Karlie Schoening and Neal Vaught, all of Fulton, Grant Hague of Auxvasse, Sam, Charlie and Eliza Custard of Erie, Colo., Luke and Mason Custard, Fenton, Cera Winters and Tanner Custard of Holts Summit, Molly Cowart and William Bidlack of New Bloomfield; and three great-great-grandchildren, Zoie and Isabel Custard and Ansley Winters. Sarah is also survived by two brothers, Harry Neal of Fulton and George (Shirley) Neal Jr., Fayette; four sisters, Dorothy Bosh of Knoxville, Tenn., Peggy Strange of Jefferson City, Virginia (Don) Higgins, California, Mo.; Maxine (Bobby) Gilman, Fulton, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Neal; four sisters, Ruth Rittman, Opal Simpson, Judy Christenson, and Faye Wilmsmeyer; and two sisters-in-law Mary Sweede and Beulah (Babe) Beaver. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, with Reverend Dr. Lewis Curtis officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service also at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
