Glennon A. Engelbrecht

Mr. Glennon A. Engelbrecht, age 69 years, of Lohman, Mo., died Friday, February 15, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born on June 12, 1943, in Owensville, Mo., the son of Arthur and Ruth (Morre) Engelbrecht, both deceased. He was married on June 27, 1964, in Owensville, Mo. to Virginia L. Barton, who survives at the home. After graduating from Bland High School in 1961, Glennon worked at Proctor and Gamble and General Motors in St. Louis. He then attended the University of Missouri in Rolla for two years and completed his degree at Lincoln University with a bachelor degree in Business Administration. Glennon was employed with the State of Missouri for over 15 years in various departments. He started his employment in the Comptroller's Office, then served in the Department of Revenue, and later with the Public Service Commission. After his employment with the state, he went back to Lincoln University and obtained a Masters in Education in 1988. He became a physical science teacher at the Simonsen 9th Grade Center with the Jefferson City Public Schools for 10 years. He retired in 2006, after five years as a guard with the Missouri Department of Corrections. After his retirement, he worked part time at the nuclear plant in Reform, Mo. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, Mo. Glennon was a joy to his family and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, traveling, fishing, and being with his family. Other survivors include: two sons, G. Scott Engelbrecht and his wife Julie (McKittrick) of Town and Country, Mo., and Jeffrey Engelbrecht and his wife Tia-Lisa (Putman) of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one sister, Wanda (Engelbrecht) Jett of Bland, Mo.; four grandchildren, Hannah Engelbrecht, Tiara Engelbrecht, Savannah Engelbrecht, and Christian Engelbrecht all of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two step-grandchildren, Sarah Gibbs and Caroline Gibbs of Town and Country, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, Mo. from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Faith Lutheran Church with the Reverend Tony Alter officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
