Larry Thomas Wooldridge

Larry Thomas (Tom) Wooldridge, age 72, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Cox South Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Lockwood, Mo. Tom was a believer in Jesus Christ and at an early age he was received into the fellowship of First Baptist Church in Lockwood by baptism. He graduated from Lockwood High School and attended Draughn's Business College in Springfield. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country for two years. In 1966, he met the woman to be his bride. He and Judy Brinkman were married at First Baptist Church in Owensville on April 15, 1967. At that point in time, Tom worked for Jefferson Life Insurance in Springfield. In 1969, he began working for Ozark Gift House in Springfield and retired in 2005. He and his wife are members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield. Tom will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan Wooldridge; three sons: Scott Wooldridge and wife Jill, Jeff Wooldridge, and Jay Wooldridge and his wife Laura, all of Springfield and areas surrounding Springfield; five grandchildren: Sydney, Kendall, Noah, Jacob, and Logan; one brother: Bill Wooldridge of Webb City; two sisters: Margaret Nutter and Jan Johnson, both of Springfield and the surrounding area. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Uly and Bertha Wooldridge; one brother, Frank Wooldridge; and nieces, Sherri Nutter and Emily Dobbs. Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with Monty Shinkle officiating. Interment will follow at MO Veterans Cemetery at 5201 S. Southwood Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to Pregnancy Care Center in Springfield, and to Gideon's International.
