Nina Jacobs

Nina Jacobs, 79, of Jefferson City, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born March 18, 1934, in Iberia, Missouri, a daughter of Olia and Fanny (Luttrell) Whittle. Nina had worked for the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing solitaire on her computer. She loved to admire the flowers and hummingbirds in her yard. Survivors include her husband, Sonny Jacobs of the home; two daughters: Gwen McGeorge and husband Eric of Jefferson City, Tina Barnes of St. Elizabeth; two stepchildren: Jerry Jacobs and wife Paula of Jamestown, Donna Ford and husband Norman of Jefferson City; one sister, Lois Brown of Marshalltown, Iowa; three sisters-in-law: Shirley Whittle, Dell Whittle, Beryl Whittle; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Farris Whittle, Vernor Whittle, Gail Whittle, Jim Whittle, Granville Whittle, Gene Whittle and Irene Thomas. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Rev. Murl Nash officiating. Entombment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Missouri Rehabilitation Services for the Blind or a charity of the donor's choice.
