Katherine Louise Sapp

Katherine Louise Acton Sapp, 76, of Columbia, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012, at Boone Hospital Center. Katherine was born on June 11, 1936, in Boone County to the late Robert and Margaret (Roberts) Vaughan. On September 29, 1953, she married Homer Dalton Acton and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2007. She was later united in marriage to Elmer L. Sapp and he survives. Katherine was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to dance and will be greatly missed. Survivors also include her children, Janice Shettlesworth of Sturgeon, Lester Odell Acton and wife Cindy of Columbia, Roy Dean Acton and wife Bonnie of Moberly and Ronald Acton and wife Freda of Sturgeon; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Mae Bright and husband Dan, Opal Acton and husband Donny and Patsy Crawford and husband Corkey; and brothers, Ronald Gene Vaughan and wife Sue and Edward Ray Vaughan. Katherine was also preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Fae McMahan and one great-granddaughter, Addison Shettlesworth. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
