Edgar E. Norris

Edgar E. Norris, 92, died peacefully Monday, October 22, 2012, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Born in Shawmut, Alabama, Ed joined the Army and was stationed at Scott Field in 1941, when he met his beloved wife, Alice Leon Elliott, who preceded him in death. Ed and Alice were long-time residents of Ferguson, Missouri, where they raised their family and were members of First Presbyterian Church. Ed retired in 1982, after years with Costello Ford/All Car Leasing. He loved fishing, bowling, wood-working, golf, a good cigar, and a cold beer. He will be missed and mourned by daughters: Judith Shaw, Burbank, Calif., Ellen (husband Dave) Taylor, Reno, Nev.; sons: Rick Norris, Raleigh, N.C., Thomas Norris, Jefferson City, Mo., and Bob (wife Robin) Norris, Tebbetts, Mo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Ferguson, with interment at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed's memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association. A Hutchens Mortuary service, hutchensmortuary.com.
