Christine Mae Languido Ricana, age22, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. She was born May 22, 1990, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Cleofe Languido Ricana and Clifton V. Ricana. She was a 2008 graduate of Jefferson City High School and went on to earn her Bachelor's of Science degree in 2012 from the University of Missouri - Columbia. Christine worked at Capital 8 Theater and Love Sushi. While in high school, Christine was a member of the Jefferson City High School Cross Country Team, Track and Field Team (Pole Vaulter), and the JCHS Orchestra (Violin). She was also a member of the Jefferson City Symphony Orchestra and Young Life. While in college, Christine was a Young Life Leader and volunteered her time at school and around the community. She was currently a student at the University of Missouri - Columbia studying for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Christine enjoyed skate boarding, climbing trees, and being a mentor to children. She lived life to the fullest every day, always spontaneous and finding joy in the simplest, most random things. Christine had a smile that radiated warmth in the people she came in contact with. She never judged anyone and was always sincere. Christine is survived by her parents: Cleofe Languido RicaÃ’a and Clifton V. RicaÃ’a of Jefferson City; one brother: Clifton L. RicaÃ’a Jr. of Jefferson City; maternal grandparents: Eriberto U. and Irene M. Languido of Jefferson City; and paternal grandmother: Carmencita V. RicaÃ’a of Chicago, Illinois. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Fr. Anthony J. Viviano officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the family's choice.
