Robert Francis Connor, 75, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at his residence. He was born on April 25, 1937, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Willard Francis and Florence Louise (Teague) Connor. Mr. Connor graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and received a Fellowship from the Institute for Court Management, School of Law, Denver University. Mr. Connor served in the Missouri National Guard and was honorably discharged on January 24, 1962. He was united in marriage on June 9, 1962, in Jefferson City, to Leota Gertrude Curtman, who resides at the home. Mr. Connor retired in 2008, as the Executive Director for the Missouri Ethics Commission since starting in 2002. Previously he had been the Clerk for the United States District Court for Western District of Missouri from 1974-1999; Deputy of the State Court Administration for the Supreme Court of Missouri from 1971-1974, the first Director of the Records Management & Archives Services for the Missouri Secretary of State Office from 1965-1971, and Budget Analyst for the Office of State Budget Director & Comptroller from 1960-1965. Mr. Connor was a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; Federal Court Clerk's Association serving as President in 1990; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks serving as Exalted Ruler 1963-1964; District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler 1973-1974 and 1977-1978. Mr. Connor was very active in the community serving on several local boards and committees and other state wide organizations over the years. Mr. Connor received the President's Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association in 1996. He was also a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Other survivors include: three children, Patrick Connor, Lone Jack, Mo.; Cynthia (J.W.) Vann, Fulton; Michael Connor, Atlanta, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Jason Vann, Justin Vann, Ryan Connor, and Brandon Connor. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
