Clifford E. Von Der Bruegge

Mr. Clifford E. Von Der Bruegge, age 85 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, November 26, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. Cliff was born July 31, 1927, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of John H. and Pearl Ramsdell Von Der Bruegge. He was married on July 30, 1949, at the Central United Church of Christ in Jefferson City to Phyllis W. Misseldine. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Cliff was a 1945 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He served in the United States Navy from July 17, 1945 until being honorably discharged on August 2, 1948. He was a member of Attack Squadron Seven Able during World War II and was awarded the American Campaign Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Honorable Service Lapel Button for his service. After being discharged from the United States Navy, Cliff was employed with Schrieffer's Office Supply. He was then employed with I.B.M. for over 40 years prior to his retirement in July 31, 1990. He was a member of the Central United Church of Christ; the Central United Church of Christ Brotherhood; the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003; and the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5. Cliff loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great- grandkids. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball and NASCAR. He was the neighborhood handyman for many years. Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Phyllis Von Der Bruegge; two daughters, Maureen R. Siron and her husband Daniel of Jefferson City, Mo. and Charlotte M. Anderson and her husband Michael of Jefferson City, Mo.; one son, Michael A. Von Der Bruegge and his wife Shawn of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, John H. Von Der Bruegge and his wife Helen of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Marsha Von Der Bruegge; and one uncle, George "Bud" Von Der Bruegge. Visitation will be at the Central United Church of Christ from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Central United Church of Christ with the Reverend Coletta Eichenberger officiating. Private graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Clifford Von Der Bruegge Memorial Fund.
