Emma Spears

Mrs. Emma Kaye Spears, age 77 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Golden Living Center. Kaye was born April 30, 1935, in Marvell, Arkansas, the daughter of John R. and Ella F. McEver Strebeck. She was married to Louis M. Spears who preceded her in death on August 9, 1991. Kaye was a 1954 graduate of Sallisaw High School in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. A resident of the Jefferson City area for the past 16 years, Kaye was employed as a waitress and truck driver for several years before moving to Jefferson City. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Survivors include: one daughter, Tina Spears of Jefferson City, Mo; three brothers, Earl E. Strebeck of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Homer Strebeck and his wife Fran, and Gary Harding, both of the state of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Reverend Kevin Kohler officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be held at Duncan Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Visitation will immediately follow the memorial service at the church.
