Kenneth Wahlbrink

Kenneth John Wahlbrink, 89, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Golden Living Center. He was born on March 1, 1923, in St. Louis, the son of the late William and Ella Hoffmann Wahlbrink. He was united in marriage on March 5, 1944, in St. Louis, to June Marie Kersting, who survives. Mr. Wahlbrink was a 1941 graduate of Beaumont High School in St. Louis. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served as a Reconnaissance Agent with the 14th Armored Division under General George Patton and received a Bronze Star. He retired in 1986 as Manager of American Olean Tile Company in St. Louis where he had been employed for many years. He earlier served with General Motors Corporation. Mr. Wahlbrink was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Meadow Lake Acres Country Club, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Other survivors include one son, Kurt Wahlbrink, Jefferson City; one daughter, Kay (Bill) Miller, Estes Park, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Katey Miller (Steve) Rusch, and Ben Miller, all of Estes Park, Colo. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kristine Marie Wahlbrink. Private family services were held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Henry and the Rev. Bob Erickson officiating. Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church, 324 Madison Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or a charity of the donor's choice.
